The chair is good for four hours

A wall of warm wood slats, a paper pendant and a tan leather IKEA chair, with new Edifier speakers standing straight on a sit-stand desk and a turntable on the cabinet at the end.

The chair is an IKEA Alefjäll, in tan leather on a black tube frame. Conscious-Hospital49 rates it the best chair IKEA makes, better than the ones it sells as ergonomic, and good for two to four hours a day. A longer day happens in another room, in a Sayl or an Embody.

The speakers are Edifiers, and they are new. They stand straight on the desk rather than on feet or stands, because stands would bring them further forward. They stay as they are for now, while the top end gets worked on. This is not the room where the serious listening happens.

The desk is a sit-stand frame under a dark wood top. One large screen stands in the middle on a pale blue foot, with a low keyboard in front of it in grey and cream, orange keys at the ends, and a cream mouse beside it.

Warm wood slats cover the whole wall, bought from a local construction store in Thailand. A paper pendant hangs over the left of the desk, a black clock hangs at the right, and a snake plant stands by the window.

A walnut cabinet closes the right end of the desk, with a turntable on top of it. The machine is a small dark case standing on the desk at the left.
