A carpenter made the desk top
A white attic room in Belgium. The owner is a carpenter, and the desk top is his own work: four metres of painted MDF running the whole wall, from the screens at one end to a 3D printer at the other.
skobrie is a carpenter, and the desk top is his own work. It is two MDF boards, glued together, screwed and painted white. The top runs four hundred and fifteen centimetres along the attic wall, in two pieces that meet at the drawer unit in the middle.
Three IKEA Alex units carry it, one at each end and one in the middle, and a single white leg holds the long right-hand span. The cables run in a duct under the top and behind the wall, so nothing hangs into the room.
The light is a Philips Hue lightstrip. One strip lines the recess shelf above the desk, behind a diffuser, and another washes the wall from under the desk top. The shelf holds books, a few figures and a framed print, and the recess is the brightest thing in the room.
A Bambu Lab A1 Combo stands at the right-hand end with its four spool stand behind it. It is his first printer. The ventilation shaft of the house came out of the wall where the desk now stands, so he extended it and printed a piece that vents out through the front of the cabinet.
Two screens meet in the middle of the wall, above a vertical mouse, and the PC stands on the floor under the desk. The speakers are a Logitech Z407 pair, one satellite each side of the screens and the subwoofer at the left end. The chair is an Autonomous ErgoChair Pro, a month old when he posted, and he rates it for long sessions.
Lou sits on the floor in front of the desk, and she held still for the first photo he took. A rug is the next thing he is thinking about, and he likes the idea of a plant.
