The desk fits the room exactly

An attic room in white and wood, with a desk of two IKEA countertops that runs wall to wall, an ultrawide monitor between two Audioengine speakers, and a 3D printer at the far end.

RollinBart's desk runs the full width of an attic room. It is two IKEA Saljan countertops, one of 2.46 m and one cut down, which come to 3.095 m against a wall of 3.10 m. A hole cut with a jigsaw takes the pipes that run down the corner. A leg under the middle of the left top and another on the seam carry the weight, and the metal cable gutters along the back add to it.

A wide curved monitor stands in the centre on a white riser with two drawers, with a webcam clipped to the top of it. A pair of Audioengine A5 speakers sit either side on BTech wall mounts, well above ear height.

The keyboard is an IBM Model M, and it reaches the PC through a PS/2 to USB adapter. The mouse is wireless. One long jack cable and one DisplayPort cable run to the PC on the floor behind the desk legs, and a hub in the monitor's own USB port carries the rest. The power comes off a strip under the top.

The left end of the room is a workshop. A 3D printer stands beside a pegboard of filament spools, a Spacepi filament dryer sits on top of a printer and a scanner, and a box for a multi material upgrade waits on the desk beside them.

The storage is IKEA throughout: an Alex drawer unit under each end of the desk, on legs from AliExpress, and Eket cabinets on the wall above the workshop. A floating shelf carries a Pingubricks 787B, a model locomotive and two go-karting trophies. A cat bed clamps to the right end of the desk on an arm of its own.

The chair is an Ivono Butterfly, in white and pink. Two filled holes show on the wall behind the shelf, from a drill, and the wall is due to be painted again.
