Never once hit his head
A desk built into a triangular attic nook painted midnight blue, in an 1880 house north of Paris, with an ultrawide, KEF actives and two trailing plants.
The house dates from 1880 and stands north of Paris, and maevix built the desk into a triangular nook under its attic roof. The nook is painted midnight blue, a velvet paint from Liberon, and the white frame of the roof runs down either side of it. A window sits above the desk. Sun through it is one reason to be up there, and rain on the roof is the other. At six foot four, the owner has never once hit his head.
The desk is a Herman Miller Jarvis, motorised, bought from Herman Miller directly. Two cable trays came with it, and they take every cable, which is the whole of the cable management. A Mac Studio stands on the top with a USB power hub beside it, and an Alienware 34 inch ultrawide hangs on an arm above, running the macOS Tahoe wallpaper. Two Apple screens may replace it. The chair is the Embody that Herman Miller made with Logitech G, and the owner says it is like sitting on a cloud.
A pair of KEF LSX II actives sit either side of the screen on KEF's own stands, with a KC62 under them for the low end. The owner rates the mids, the highs and the stereo image, and says the bass stays tight without taking over the room. A Philips Hue Go stands behind each speaker. The white panel on a pole to the left is an Amaran Verge, for a video call or a dark afternoon.
The shelf above the screen holds dried flowers in a vase, the elemental stones from The Fifth Element printed at home, and two framed cards, the One Ring and a Balefire Dragon. A Stargate chevron sits at the point of the roof above them, and a trailing plant hangs at each end of the shelf. The microphone on the arm is there for dictation, which is what the owner mostly speaks into it for.
