The screen comes to the chair

An ultrawide hangs from a jointed steel arm bolted through the ceiling. It swings over the desk to work, and out into the room to play from a chair.

The arm starts above the plaster. Two outriggers spread the load across the joists, a plate closes the opening, and a jointed steel arm drops from the middle of it and carries the ultrawide. The screen sits over the desk for work. It swings away to a chair on the other side of the room to play, and the keyboard and the small screen come with it.

The wall behind the desk is jwaugh3's own joinery. He built the cabinets in his shop and finished the wall last year: tall doors in the middle and at both ends, open shelves for books and a clock, and a walnut worktop that runs the full width under all of it. A pegboard stands at each end of the worktop, one holding pliers, drivers and a multimeter, the other spools and cutters.

The left wall is a mural of topographic lines, rust under white. He projected the stencil and painted it by hand, and the same contours run as the wallpaper on the ultrawide.

A second desk stands back to back with the first, so the chair turns from one to the other. Old School RuneScape runs on the small wide screen under the ultrawide, on calcified rocks. The chair is a Secretlab TITAN with the front of the seat worn through, and he is replacing both chairs in the room in the coming months.
